some epigram fun...

M-TwentyFour - James Parrett
This is the winner of the Montalto vineyards sculpture prize for 2016.
In a statement, Parrett said that the coss-section the two main arcs
intends to create tension and movement...

Some political rattlesnakes try to poison commonsense
Let them spike their bloated pride on the nearest picket fence

 Wallpaper roses may be pretty
But they're scentless, senseless - more's the pity

A soundproof room is like an addictive cellphone
Lies and truths come with an ID belltone

Backbite is like a red hot tong
A burn without a flaming song

A caveman knew the well of life
Food, water and a loving wife

Poetry form: epigram
(Any significant beings that seem implicated in these epigrams
is purely co-incidental.
Each epigram is open to interpretation)

The comparison between backbiting and red hot tongs is terrific, and the whole journey of the poem very vivid. Thanks. k

Love your descriptions of your compound words.

This is a meaty array of epigrammatic wisdom. I especially love this one:

A soundproof room is like an addictive cellphone
Lies and truths come with an ID belltone

Very strong words and well said. I like the structure of this poem, well crafted. I can hear you.

I see that you intend these as individual epigrams, but I think it kinda hangs together all as one piece, wry observations and that terrific last line. Yes, well indeed, a loving wife. Or else!

I feel that there are cavemen trying to fill our world with their ideas.

OOooo. I feel like this should be a song. Great cadence here.

Yes, I think the caveman got it right.

I love the simple truth in this:

" Wallpaper roses may be pretty
But they're scentless, senseless"

Nice write!

There seems to be an attempt to make America prehistoric again. Great commentary on the state of our union.

Sharp and to the point--every word does its job. The epigram requires a lot of wit--you have shown how well it works when done right. All are good, but love the first one most as I tend to be *way* too involved in politics atm.
