Leaves

just leaves
leaves
lamenting warmth
like coloured paints drying pale
and scattered loose to the winds
like sunlight shattered
she
like sunlight shattered
and scattered loose to the winds
like coloured paints drying pale
lamenting warmth
leaves
just leaves

Wow!! That's so clever...I'm thrilled with the double meaning on, "leaves!!" Great work with this!

Lovely autumn leaves ~ I like how the second part takes on a different meaning with leaves, she just leaves ~ Wonderful palindrome ~ Thanks for linking up ~

really a great turn in this gemma...these are not the easiest things to write--at least not to get to make sense but you pulled it off nicely and gave a nice swing in mood from side to side...smiles.

Beautiful Autumn leaves can never be forgotten even left dry on the ground. Copper tone is an amazing color. Nicely Gemma!

This is brilliant... and the double of meaning of leaves comes out excellently... seen as separate poems I prefer the second one :-)

I am totally moved by this poem, particularly the drying paints on a palate no longer used, flaking away. My. Thank you.

The photo made me think of autumn (my favorite season) and the poem made me think of those who have done just that - left their lives (sometimes themselves) behind. Just gorgeous!

Perfectly done, Gemma. The repetition is so perfectly blended that we wouldn't have known it was there if we hadn't been watching for it, after struggling with our own palindromes.
And the photo is beautiful.

Autumn brings changes, the warmth of summer fades, leaves fall, and we greater sense the approach of winter's frosty nip. Well written, subtle and yet very clear!

Gemma, thanks for stopping by my blog. This prompt I didn't even attempt, and here, you manage a haiku feel while weaving a bittersweet picture of summer's wane. Really lovely. Amy
