A wedding dress has always struck me as a singularly obsolete item of clothing. One just does not know what to do with them - I have mine stuffed away in a box at the top of a cupboard.

An ironic twist indeed, the unexpected ending! Up close, personal and mini – you got it all.

Ironic indeed.. Much like baby-shoes I have somewhere a wedding dress is just a memory,

They seem to get that way. Nice choice of modifiers, Gemma.
Mrs. Jim is the keeper of two, hers and one belonging to our daughter. Dunno why. And both have gotten rather frumpy, to me bordering on trash.

I took out the lace in my wedding dress & made it into a baptismal gown ~ The ending of the poem, with wedding dress, was unexpected; a good twist ~

Perfect. What is more a symbol than a wedding dress? No words of mine could point your message better than the ones you've used.

There is so much story here in these few words--well done!

The word choice here points up both the armor and fragility the dress symbolizes.

Unexpected ending!
I never kept mine, gave it to a charity shop.

Some great words here, some of which aren't used nearly enough, such as stark and unkempt.
